A sacred hymn with words and music by Kevin G. Pace.  Watch on YouTube: Thou Didst Create the World For Me

See text below.

1. Jesus, exalted one, Jesus, thou Holy Son,

Thy works are glorious beyond compare.

Thou didst stretch out thy hand, following Father's plan,

Brilliant creator of heaven and earth.

Earth was without its form, darkness prevailed so deep,

Thou didst declare the word, "Let there be light."

Sun, moon and stars now shine that I might see,

Thou didst create the world for me.

2. Dividing land and sea, thou didst create for me

oceans and waterfalls, rivers and streams.

Grass covered valleys wide, snow covered mountain side,

All these thou placed on earth to beautify.

Grasses and trees bearing fruits in variety,

vegetables, flowers, and herbs, gavest thou me.

Glorious and beautiful it is to see,

Thou didst create the world for me.

3. Fishes both great and small, thou didst create them all,

fowls fly above the land, majestic'ly.

Cattle and creeping things, bears, horses, mountain king,

All these were brought to be after thy kind.

Thou didst command the beast, fishes and creeping things,

"Go forth and multiply, filling the earth."

Wondrous, inspiring are these to see,

Thou didst create the world for me.

4. Out of the dusty ground thou didst create a man,

thou didst create for him a home sublime.

Garden of Eden home, still, man was all alone,

woman was brought to him, helpmeet for man.

Adam and Eve were called parents of humankind,

They led the race of man, bountifully.

Creations work complete, wonderously,

Thou didst create this earth for me.
