A sacred hymn about saying goodbye at the death of a loved one.  Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Mary Ann Snowball below.

YouTube video: We Would Never Say Goodbye

We would never say goodbye When our loved ones die.

We would always want them close, Or right by our side.

But we know the Father’s plan—There’s a time to weep.

As we trust His way we hear Holy words to keep:

Chorus:

Let not your hearts be troubled, Nor let them be afraid.

My peace I give you freely-- Peace that will never fade.

In his comfort we’ll be wrapped; He wipes tears away,

And his many mansions wait . . . In his care we’ll stay.

All must die to live with God; We’ll pause patiently,

And because the Savior bled, We hear quietly:

Chorus:

Let not your hearts be troubled, Nor let them be afraid.

My peace I give you freely—Peace that will never fade.

Then on resurrection morn, Singing songs of praise,

We’ll receive the gift bestowed Under heaven’s rays.

We will be united there With our loved ones dear.

In our mem’ ry we’ll recall Words we used to hear:

Chorus:

Let not your hearts be troubled, Nor let them be afraid.

My peace I give you freely-- Peace that will never fade.

We will never say goodbye; Lasting life is real.

God has healed our broken hearts And He loves us still.

We will never say goodbye; He’s the perfect way.

Joy is ours, eternally, For we heard him say:

Chorus:

Let not your hearts be troubled, Nor let them be afraid.

My peace I give you freely-- Peace that will never fade.
