Plain and precious truths

Restored in latter days,

Words from ancient prophets,

Written on gold plates;

The doctrines of the gospel.

The Book of Mormon doth restore,

Through a chosen prophet,

Come to light once more.

Plain and precious truths

Tell of Jesus Christ the Lord,

And blessings which may follow

Whose who hearken to His word.

It tells of the Savior’s visit

To some of his other sheep,

For the Lord doth show to man

How all His promises He’ll keep.

Covenant send ordinances,

Ancient, yet renewed

Gathering all the pure in heart,

 Bring eternity into view.

We’ll read the Book of Mormon,

That was written for our day,

Receiving plain and precious truths,

Leading us to heaven’s way.
