Text:
Certain women at the cross
Knelt at the Savior's feet.
Ministering by their presence there
showed love in thought and deed.
They stood in forlorn helplessness,
Comforting arms they could not extend
Upon their divine Messiah true,
Yet their humble knees did bend.

Other disciples had fled the scene
Out of fear or mighty dread,
But certain women in great faith stood by,
Among the living and the dead.
Certain women in unity,
Served as a sacred sisterhood,
Who from their depths of sorrow,
Endeavored only to do good.

They were the last to serve Him
As the corpse was wrapped in white.
They were the first to see Him
In Sunday's dawning light.
We like these faithful women,
Can stand in grateful unity,
By testifying in deed or thought,
That like the Savior we may be.
