When I was down, you lifted me up.
When I was hungry, you offered your cup.
When I was sick, you succored my pain.
When I was lonely, you graciously came.

When I was weak, you lent me your strength.
When I was mourning, you listened at length.
When I was sad, you changed all your plans.
When I was falling, you put forth your hand.

When I was bare, you shared your own clothes.
When I was homeless, you offered abode.
When I was scared, you calmed all my fears.
When I was crying, you wiped away tears.

When I was wrong, you helped me be wise.
When I was sinning, you opened my eyes.
When I was lost, you gave me God’s light.
When I was blinded, you gave me pure sight.

You shared your faith, and I learned to trust.
You gave me hope, and I changed so much.
You gave me love that parted the veil.
You showed me Jesus; His love never fails.
