He came, declaring that Christ was His name,
Just as the prophets had proclaimed.
He came to fulfill all foretold things,
To invite us under His protecting wings.

He came, laying hands upon the heads
Of his disciples and with them pled,
“Go forth baptizing with My power;
Sustained in your needs, hour by hour.”

He came, bringing the Law and Light,
He came, dispelling fear and fright.
He came to His other waiting sheep,
To lead them into His gentle keep.

He came, calling them to come nearby
To touch His hands and feet and side
As proof that He had risen 'live,
After on the cross He’d meekly died.

He came to heal the sick and lame.
All sang ‘Hosanna’ to His name.
He came and blessed each little child,
Speaking in a voice so soft and mild.

He came and He will come again!
He will come, let all the earth exclaim,
“Hosanna to our King and Lord,”
Then all will live in one accord.
