"I Can Love Like Jesus" is a poignant Holy Week hymn capturing the sacred events of Thursday evening in the Garden of Gethsemane. With music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball, the hymn reflects on Christ's love amid betrayal, sorrow, and deep personal suffering. From the Last Supper to His anguished prayers while His disciples slept, the Savior’s pure devotion to God and all mankind is reverently portrayed. The text concludes with a heartfelt personal response—an invitation to emulate Christ’s love, especially in times of trial, so that others may also be blessed.

Text:
I Can Love Like Jesus (Thursday in the Garden of Gethsemane)

In the Upper Room on this Thursday eve
Jesus was betrayed by one—Judas did deceive.
His disciples there, twelve minus this one,
Followed the Messiah then when the meal was done.

To the Garden grove, Jesus went to love
All mankind so very much and his God above.
As disciples slept, Jesus suffered pain—
Pain so deep it caused Him tears all for my own gain.

I can love like Jesus loved when I have a test.
I can love like Jesus did so all can be blessed.
