A beautiful, sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mark R. Fotheringham.

YouTube video: How Can We Be Grateful? hymn

Text:
How can we be grateful
When storms cross our way?
How can we be thankful
As dreams pass away?
Man's troubles are constant,
But so is God's love.
He sent us a Savior
And peace as a dove.

How can we be humble
When pride clouds our eyes?
How can we trust others
If we harbor lies?
We each have our failings,
But Christ shows the way
To overcome evil
And bring a new day.

How can we be like Him?
The flesh is so weak.
How can we gain wisdom
To find what we seek?
We'll study the scriptures,
On His Word to feast.
We'll serve as Lord Jesus,
And lift up the least.
