His was a birth, the only one on earth, 

To be named divine . . . our Father's true design. 

This Son of Man, begotten through God's plan, 

Would become the Christ and offer sacrifice.

 His mother's gift, sealed with mortal kiss, 

Was the constant care she offered with a prayer. 

She saw Him die with sorrow and with cries, 

Yet sweet Mary then would trust her God again. 

God's gracious Son had now become the One 

Who gave pow'r to live . . . the greatest gift to give. 

He suffered more than He thought was in store 

So mankind could be with God eternally.

Because his birth, divine upon the earth, 

Was fulfilled through pain, mankind can live again. 

Because of love from heaven up above, 

We can live therein, and grow to be like Him.
