A solemn, sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.
YouTube video: My Passover Feast, hymn
Text:
Like He who walked the winepress alone,
I sit weeping, early, before all the Sunday saints gather.
In my solitude, am I escaping His judgment, or
hiding behind an array of could-be critical voices?
I just want to remember, . . .
to remember that slain lamb, that blood on the doorpost . . .
and that escape from the angel of darkness.
Like He who shed His own blood, alone,
I shed tears that drip like rain, and now sing about another
slain Lamb uttering something about His Father’s will:
“Nevertheless, not my will, but Thine be done.”
I just want to remember, . . .
to remember That slain Lamb, that offering of His heart
that can be my escape—if I only remember His Name.
As the emblems of His death are passed to others,
I wait . . . until He stands alone with a sacred tray,
offering His love, with piercing, until our eyes meet.
This light brings tears to my eyes and hope to my soul.
I just want to remember, . . .
to remember Him always . . . that slain Lamb as I partake
of His promise . . . and mine . . . at my Passover feast.
