A beautiful, sacred hymn celebrating the Triumphal Entry of Christ into Jerusalem. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Kathryn W. Hales.
YouTube video: Hosannah! Hosannah! hymn
Text:
Riding on a donkey like David the King,
Jesus entered Jerusalem while people there did sing,
They laid cloaks before Him, this Man with no sin,
Like a conq'ring warrior, all souls to win.
"Hosannah! Hosannah! The Messiah has come!
Hosannah! Hosannah! To God's Beloved Son."
Waving palm branches in grand shouts of praise.
"Hosannah! Hosannah!' their voices did raise,
But with mournful face, to the crowd He rode through,
For what lay before Him only He knew,
"Hosannah! Hosannah! The Messiah has come!
Hosannah! Hosannah! To God's Beloved Son."
Hosannah! Hosannah! A new day will come,
When but one more week would pass for God's beloved Son,
With the dawning of the first resurrection day,
When death will be conquered; the stone rolled away.
Hosansan! Hosannah! The Anointed One!
Hosannah! Hosannah! The Savior has come!
