Despised and in need of relief,
He carried all sorrow and grief.
Jesus was wounded and bruised for each soul . . .
So all mankind could be whole.

He preached charity from the start,
Repairing each broken, torn heart.
To the bound captives He gave liberty,
Promising good men be free.

O, Jesus has given true alms;
A token’s been placed in his palms.
Jesus has promised that all shall arise,
Gaining God’s heavenly prize.

Our Savior has given his love,
And reigns now from heaven above.
He was God’s suffering servant for all;
That was his own sacred call.

God’s suffering servant sacrificed all,
Filling his premortal call.
