An original hymn with text by Kathryn W. Hales below. YouTube video: Hope
Hope gives me strength to go on my way
With promises of perfect brightness some future day;
In Christ these promises are secure,
If with hope and faith I can endure.
Hope is light in a darkened sky
Not stumbling amiss, but courage to try;
Hope comes as a spiritual gift from God,
With certainty, holding to the iron rod.
From the words of the Lord, hope doth come,
Through the Holy Ghost, courier of revelation.
When these words are written down,
They’re His will, His voice renowned.
Living words, scriptures from the Lord,
Powerful as a two-edged sword,
Dividing truth from errors ways
That I may know His holy ways.
Woven with faith and charity, hope
Pulls heavenward like a flaxen rope,
Or keeps us grounded like an anchor strong,
With a steadfast testimony all life long.
Hope gives me strength to go on my way
With promises of perfect brightness some future day;
In Christ these promises are secure,
If with hope and faith I can endure.
