Text:
Hannah was barren, for she had no seed.
O, having a child was her greatest need.
Year after year she waited in grief . . .
Waited for God to give her relief.
Kneeling with darkness and in greatest gloom,
She prayed for God’s mercy: Please open my womb.
O Lord of Hosts, I’ve waited so long.
Pleading for grace her faith was made strong.
Give me a man child, she asked in her heart.
O, then I will give him to grow in thy court.
Hannah’s deep vow was answered with peace.
Granting her plea, she soon did conceive.
Samuel was given by God through great faith,
And Hannah rejoiced over what He had made.
She did sing praise to her Lord above,
Knowing her test was sent with God’s love.
