Before we buy gas or food for the day.

Is what we’ll receive worth the money spent

To sustain in our work or entertain us in play?

“What is the cost?’ investigators may ask

As the gospel of Christ they review

“Is what I’ll receive worth my family or friends?

Is that life-style something I can do?”

“What is the cost to be part of Zion

Where everything is shared alike or in kind?

Can I give what is asked in my life right now,

All my heart and a willing mind?

What is the cost? The one thing I lack?

Be it money or talents or time?

Yes, the cost is high; it requires my ALL,

My strength, soul, heart, might and mind.
