YouTube video: Great and Marvelous, hymn
Text:
In a Fayette cabin small
On an April Day,
There a glor'ious work began,
A great foundation laid.
Few in number were the saints,
Though their faith was strong,
Who there restored the church of Christ,
Gone from earth so long.
CHORUS
Great and marvelous the work,
A wonder in our sight.
The Church of Christ restored to earth
Shall fill the world with light.
"Go ye into all the world,"
Was the Lord's command.
Gather we all Israel
Dispersed in ev'ry land.
Missionaries now are called,
Blessed to serve and teach,
By following the Spirit's voice,
Finding hearts to reach.
CHORUS
One true church to bless mankind,
Living and the dead,
Sealing saints throughout all time,
A blessing on each head.
Houses of the Lord are raised,
Bringing joy and peace.
For saints who step through temple doors,
Faith and love increase.
CHORUS
One day soon the Lord will come,
Taking up His throne.
Work we now to welcome Him
That He may claim His own.
Daniel said a rolling stone
Grew and then became
A mountain that would fill the earth.
Now it bears His name.
