A new star rising way up above Shone in the heavens, filled with God’s love.

It was a sign the seers foretold Of Jesus Christ and how He would hold

All life in his hands, for He would be King, To govern the earth by ruling all things.

It would show Father’s prophesied plan Of bringing rescue to mortal man.

A new star rising, like none before, Did bring bright hope with blessings in store.

For this new light displayed the sign Of Baby Jesus’ set birthing time.

His life would be filled with torment and strain, All to diminish our cries and our pain.

This new star rising calmed every heart, Giving each soul new peace to impart.

This new star rising filled heavenly skies. It lent such brightness, lifting up eyes.

It led the wise men on their way To bring the Christ Child gifts to display.

In heavens above the true sign was shown So Jesus, the Christ, would always be known.

Now He is called the bright, morning star, Known to most people, from near or far.

Now Jesus Christ reigns from up above, And is our Savior filled with great love.
