Text:
God Jehovah created the earth,
To make a habitation of great worth.
From chaotic matter He organized
Then chose others to supervise.
Into every particle he placed His Light,
That it might know wrong from right.
And each thing in its own way
Learned to hearken and to obey.

And God said that it “was good”.

Waters were divided, above and below,
All doth God’s wisdom kindly show.
Through a sphere we cannot see,
Separating waters of sky and sea.
Plants came next, all that is green,
Artistry and grandeur in a verdant scheme.
Like grass and shrubs, flowers, trees,
Beauty for the eye to see.

And God said that it “was good”.

Constellations rule the day and night,
That in darkness there’d be light.
Given for seasons, days, and signs,
A symbol of God’s love divine.
Fowl in air and whales in seas,
Navigate with seeming ease.
Birds that swim, or sing, or fly,
Close to heaven through the sky,

And God said that it “was good”.

Then came beasts that walk or crawl,
Adam named them one and all.
Each to multiply its own kind,
According to God’s great design.
In God’s image, form, and shape,
Man and woman did He create,
Then with touch and living breath,
Came they forth without pain or death.

God said, “It was very good.”
