Overcome by fear and dread,

All his sins remembered,

Warned by heaven's messenger,

Alma sleeps in God.

Only as he cries unto the Lord,

Light replaces pain with joy.

Born again to life anew,

Alma wakes to God.

Prompted by the pow'r of God

In His servant Ammon,

King Lamoni sleeps in God,

Learning of the Lord.

Light dispels the darkness from his mind.

Overcome is he with joy.

Now his queen awaits the hour

Having lead his people home,

Saving them from danger,

Meeting Alma once again,

Ammon sleeps in God.

Swallowed up in joy, his strength is spent,

His beloved people saved.
