A sacred hymn with text by Kathryn W. Hales. Watch on YouTube: Like a Star
See text below.
As the darkness of
ev’ning falls, there shines a little light,
A single star, a twinkle in the coming of the night.
Soon it’s joined by others, ‘til there’s a full galaxy
Oh what a wondrous brilliance then shines down on me.
At times revelation comes like a single star,
Giving only a little light coming from afar.
But if I act in faith upon the promptings I receive,
That little light
will guide me on, if only I’ll believe.
Let me use that light to walk along my daily path,
Grateful for the knowledge shared from all that God hath;
Let me add my light to others when the time seems right,
Accepting their contributions, illuminations from their light.
Then we’ll learn and grow together, gaining knowledge greater still
As we learn of our Lord and Savior and try to do His will;
Then light much greater than the stars is promised to surely come
We’ll receive all
light and glory, yea even greater than the sun.
