1. Though mother Eve lost paradise,
To toil amidst a world of pain,
The grace of God would still suffice,
To succor her through sun and rain.

With Adam fell, our race begun.

To start her promised family line,
In later days, God calmed her fears,
And blessed her through His pow’r divine.

3. Though Rebecca lived in heathen lands,
She knew her son must still be wed,
Unto a maid who understands,
That she must worship God instead.

And so a righteous branch obtained.

4. Though Hannah could not bear a child,
She trusted in the Holy One.
Her fervent prayers rose and God smiled,
