Gently the bread, this broken roll

Will bless the body and the soul,

And remind of commandments, our covenants too,

That the Spirit reside here and help us be true.

Reverently raise the water clear

In token of His blood so dear.

He atoned for transgression, through suffering sore,

Thus to open the pathway to heaven once more.

Look to your heart, and bow your head.

As you partake of cup and bread,

There resolve to do better, repenting of sin.

Seek to follow the One who can lift you again.
