A sacred Easter hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann Snowball. YouTube video: Behold the Lamb of God
See text below:
Like lambs preserved and to be slain, each one with perfect blood,
These firstlings out of Israel’s flocks showed all what would be done.
Unblemished symbols speak of pain and death for our own sakes.
Like bruised and broken, bleeding hearts—a sacrifice to make.
Like blood upon each door would show such sparing of deceit,
Satanic pow’r would be stopped and evil would be beat.
These little lambs would signify the coming of a (the) Son
Who would display all love to heal, so darkness could succumb.
Like crusts of bread the flesh would tear on lambs and Jesus’ flesh.
This token of an offering, through symbols would be meshed.
Like water would his holy blood be spilled to pay a debt;
He would become a Savior and our Lord who God had sent.
Behold the Lamb of God, this Son of heav’n and earth.
Witness his love in showing souls their endless worth.
Behold today, He comes to save, with sacrifice each hour to give.
Behold these emblems of his love, will show the world his cause to live.
