Our Savior stepped into a dark domain,
A darkness not his own,
To kneel at the altar of sacrifice—
Seclusion never known.

He offered not blood from new paschal lambs;
Instead, He knelt concealed.
Then great drops of blood He did freely shed
So others could be healed.

Our Savior endured stunning solitude
So we won’t be alone.
Yes, He was abandoned so we could feel
The love He purely shows.

Now He is our light when the world gets dark
Because with his last breath,
He offered white robes from his righteousness
And life from his own death.

He offered holy sacrifice; He gave the purest price.
As we accept his sacred gift we gain the greatest prize.
