An original hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Kathryn W. Hales. YouTube video: I See Jesus
See text below.
I see His hands as He broke the flat bread,
Then see them outstretched where they slowly bled;
I see His feet, with sandals trav’l-worn,
Then nailed to a cross for all who’ve been born.
I see His humble brow in fervent prayer,
Then crowned with sharp thorns, much sorrow to bear.
I see His gentle face with love unfeigned
Then etched in agonizing grief and pain.
I see Lord Jesus, no sin, guile or pride,
With a Roman’s sharp sword piercing His side.
I see God’s Son kneel in Gethsemane,
Where he suffered alone for sinners like me,
Shrill mocking and scorn with meekness He bore
That He might open Heaven’s golden door,
That someday I might see and know His face,
With welcoming arms feel His warm embrace.
