See text below.
1. There is a land, a promised land
For the righteous there to gather
By covenant their God to serve
And the storms of life to weather.
They came across the oceans wide
As the sea would toss and turn them,
Until they landed safe and sound
On the land where God could form them.
2. For God would keep them in His hand
And as long as they would mind Him,
They would prosper by their toil and heed
To the prophets sent to guide them.
The land would bring forth of its strength
If their God they would remember,
The spirit warming heart and mind
Like the burning of an ember.
3. But should they e'er forget His Word
And the prophets kill or slander,
To the arm of flesh they would be left
And to evils they'd engender.
A land of freedom they would build,
Neither king nor prince to rule them.
Thus they could either choose the right
Or could let the devil fool them.
4. A record they would leave behind,
All their joys and sins confessing
To let the world know of their lives,
Both the curses and their blessings.
And show that on this promised land
The Lord Jesus came to teach us,
Another testament of Christ,
That He lives and yearns to reach us.
5. This promised land is ours today
For the righteous here to gather,
By covenant our God to serve
And the storms of life to weather.
For God will keep us in His hand
As we pray and seek His wisdom.
We'll prosper on this promised land
And in His eternal Kingdom.
Praise to the Father. Praise to His Word.
Forever we'll praise The Lord.
