As I stroll through silent paths,
My mind goes wand'ring free,
Searching for some choices made
Which brought me close to Thee.
I could only think of one.
On my own, I'd stray.
Still, You laid a path for me.
Still, You showed the way.

With a fam'ly, I was blessed
To show me how to love.
As we knelt in prayer they taught
Your love shines from above.
Off to church we went each week
In our Sunday best,
Where Thy Word could touch my heart
Blessed by days of rest.

Opportunities to serve
Were next to grace my path,
Called to preach what I had learned
And save good souls from wrath.
Not so much a choice to serve,
Still that path was laid,
Starting in Gethsemane,
Where a price was paid.

O'er the years the path grows clear,
Though dim now grow my eyes.
Following the path You laid,
Was following the Wise.
It was really just one choice
set my spirit free,
One choice I made long ago:
I would follow Thee.
