An original hymn. The text by Krista Pace below beautifully teaches the importance of opening our eyes.

1. In the Holy Bible, a script of old
Teaches
truths more precious than that of gold.
When Elisha, the prophet, was questioned by one
Who did fear destruction untold.
Then Elisha asked God if He'd open up his eyes
And the
younger man witnessed, much to his surprise,
That a heavenly army guarded him.
More be with us, than be with them.
2. Jesus passed a man who was blind from birth.
His
disciples asked, Which man did sin on earth?
Then the Light of the World taught that He was the One,
To perform this work of great worth.
Using clay He annointed, He opened up his eyes.
After washing in water, he spoke to the wise,
Once a blind man, but now I clearly see
Jesus, Son of God, I believe.
3. After years of darkness, a simple prayer
Reached beyond to Glory and Light sent there.
When young Joseph lacked wisdom and questioned the One
Who did shine with brightness so rare.
Then our Savior taught wisdom and opened up his eyes
Then preparing this young boy, His gospel to rise.
Restoration of all things old made new;
Priesthood power and covenants true.
4. Now today I know that my natural eyes
Are still blinded by sin wrought from Satan’s lies
But my Father in Heaven sent Christ as the One
To reclaim my soul through His cries.
So I offer my heart as He opens up my eyes
To behold the sweet peace of His gospel as prize
After much tribulation, Glory's mine.
Praise to
God and His grand design.
