As I rise to meet the morn,
My heart is heavy, sad, forlorn,
I pick up my load,
Look down the long road,
Then I drop to my knees to pray.
The Lord hears my prayer,
For He’s always there;
My needs are known,

And the Song of the Lord fills my day.

As the evening shadows fall,
I yearn to run to bedtime’s call,

For in God I trust,
