Arriving early to prepare my anxious heart,
I anticipate emblems and sure promises.
Upon the altar, I witness the gathering of
trays, tokens, and white-lying linen.

Hymnal praising, then sacred kneeling
reveal His voice in clear priest phrases.
Tasting crumbs of bread and healing water
are meant to fill my famished soul with life.

Still starved for the Spirit, I remember
whose I am, and renew precious covenants.
Kneeling together in his Garden, we meet
at the altar of sacrifice and weep in unity.

Tears fall jointly from eyes that see past
sins, mistakes, and misunderstandings.
Eternal sight reflects pure pledges and, to each
other, these become our sacred offerings.
