When will He come? When will my Savior reign?
Will He come ‘mid mortal strife on earth’s terrain?
Or will He wait ‘til my own tarnished heart
Will be cleansed so I can also be a part?

What will He say? What will my Savior speak?
Will I recognize His voice among the meek?
Or will He hesitate to call my name
‘Til I recollect it’s Him who takes my shame?

What will He feel? How will my Savior act
When we’re face to face, and when He sees my lack?
Will He forgive and call me then to stay?
Oh, I’ll prove my love in His eternal ways?

When He shall come, I’ll bow upon my knees
