Text by Kim L. Jensen:
1. We shouted for joy when told of the Plan;
the wondrous gifts bestowed on all men,
Our agency! What a marvelous gift,
and bodies at last to all women and men!
We dwelt in the light among Beings we knew;
our God and His Christ, the eternal two,
Who would lead us forth through their love and their grace,
through the trials and troubles and heartaches we'd face.
2. We came here to earth, our past was erased,
We would struggle with evil, temptations we'd face
We learned that faith was a trial to learn,
salvation would not be so easily earned.
We stumbled and fell; discouragement came,
we plead to our God, "Wilt thou hide my shame!
Please save me, Lord!" His answer was mild,
"I'll open the way through my own precious child."
3. Came Jesus, Jehovah, great God was He.
Born to earth in response to our absoluteneed.
He taught so briefly and then He was gone,
giv'n as sacrifice, that eternal blessed Son.
He opened the way, so that we can return to glory
once known, if such we earn,
By our life we live and His love and His grace
we'll go back to our God, and regain our place.
