Within the darkness of the night, at times I feel forlorn,
When lonely shadows come to harm the weary and the worn.
Remembering sure light will come, dispelling shades of gray,
I think of gathered rays like sun as God brings love each day.

One single Light, this single Light disperses gath’ring gloom.
His Name is Jesus Christ, the Lord. He ushers me from doom.
He is my beam providing sight when temptings come to view.
His vision of my soul reveals His love for me, not new.

I’ll walk with Him! His hallowed light brings glory to unveil.
I’ll walk with Him, my Savior Christ! His light will never fail!
I’ll grasp His sturdy, steady arm; He never will forsake.
From Him I’ll seek true righteousness with ev’ry step I take.

I’ll search His true reflected glow with trusting, faithful eyes.
He lends illumination and my soul He magnifies.
As I behold this single Light whose glow exceeds the sun,
I glimpse His holy, heav’nly heart, comparing Him to none.

His true devotion reaffirms my Savior is the way
Because on one dark, lonely night, His light shone forth to stay.
I’ll walk with Him; I’ll grasp His arm, His blessings to prevail.
