“I Can Praise Jesus” is a joyful and reverent children’s song that celebrates the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball. With vivid, child-friendly imagery, it captures the excitement of the crowd who welcomed their King with shouts of “Hosanna” and waving palm branches. The song connects the past to the present, inviting children today to join in that same spirit of praise. Through simple yet powerful language, it teaches young hearts to honor Jesus with their voices and devotion, just as the children did long ago during that sacred and historic week.
YouTube video: I Can Praise Jesus, children's song
Text:
Jesus is coming, He’s coming today,
Riding a donkey in royal display.
“Hosanna, Hosanna, our King’s fin’lly here,”
People were shouting in jubilant cheers.
On this Palm Sunday He rode through the gate,
Into the city, not one day too late.
With palm branches waving, the people rejoiced.
Honoring Jesus, I too add my voice.
I can praise Jesus like children of old.
I will praise Jesus; to Him I will hold.
