In this work of composer Kevin G. Pace, sacred beauty is brought to life with rich harmonies and stirring melodies. With text by Mary Ann W. Snowball, inspired by the New Testament story of Christ asking Peter, "Lovest thou me?" this choral piece captures the depth of Christ’s love and the call to discipleship. The music gently unfolds, echoing the tenderness of the Savior’s question and the earnestness of Peter’s response, creating a moving and contemplative experience. Lush vocal lines intertwine with expressive harmonies, guiding the listener through a journey of faith, love, and commitment. The interplay of text and music evokes both humility and devotion, inviting reflection on Christ’s invitation to serve and love as He did.  This piece has a minimum purchase requirement of 7 copies. The price is set low to enable you to purchase enough copies for your choir. For larger choirs, please purchase sufficient copies (at least one copy per two choir members).

Text
:
Lovest thou Me? our Savior asked Peter when walking one day.
Along the shores of Galilee, he answered in this way:
Yea, my Lord, Thou knowest much; Thou knowest I love Thee.
Walking on the water’s front, He heard our Savior’s plea:

Feed my lambs, O feed my sheep.
Then He asked again:
O, Simon, son of Jonas,
Can I on you depend?

Lovest thou Me? our Savior asked Peter once more by the sea.
Yea, my Lord, Thou knowest that I truly do love Thee.
Once again, three times in all, his Savior’s soft reply
Came from His own honest heart: He looked in Peter’s eyes:

Feed my lambs, O feed my sheep.
Saying once again:
O, Simon, son of Jonas,
Can I on you depend?

Lovest thou Me? our Savior asks covenant daughters and sons.
Will ye be a witness to my children who will come?
Will ye be committed and enlighten those who seek?
Will ye lift your voice so all may know ye speak for Me?

Feed my lambs, O feed my sheep;
Love to you I’ll lend.
O, children of my cov’nant,
On Me ye can depend.
