1. When Oliver and Joseph

Went to the woods to pray,

They sought the will of heaven

To know baptism's way,

And there the ancient Baptist

Gave them pow'r to do the same,

Restoring the Aaronic Priesthood

In the Savior's name.

2.Beside that quiet river,

The Priesthood of our Lord

Was later sought by Joseph

And there it was restored.

Then through the confirmation

Of Peter, John and James,

They were called to be the Lord's apostles

In the Savior's name. 

3. Now all you priesthood brethren,

Ye who have been ordained

To carry forth the gospel,

Proclaim it unrestrained.

With gifts bestowed upon you

Heal the sick and mend the lame,

But remember to perform all good deeds

In the Savior's name.
