Text:
The Garden of Gethsemane, my Lord there suffered for me.
He braved the depths of hell so deep to answer my sinful soul's plea.
With His blood My Lord washes me. His sacrifice sets me free.
In Pilate's court my Lord was judged though innocent as a lamb.
With crown of thorns in mockery, they punished the very I Am.
Stripped and torn for all there to see, His patience can set me free.
Golgotha's Hill, a place of death, all mercy there was denied.
Such brutal scars received for me still mark both His hands, feet and side.
Cruelty borne while hung on a tree, His constancy sets me free.
The Garden Tomb where Christ was laid with grieving sorrowful prayer,
Could never hold the King of Kings. He lives and with all He will share.
Death no longer claims victory. His power will set me free.
Both death and hell have lost their sting. My Lord has conquered all things.
Now risen to a throne above, a blessing of mercy He brings.
Glory to the Lord! Now I see, His love is what sets us free.
