Then

(For Andrew and Julie)
Once upon a winter’s day a baby boy was born.
Adding to his weight and length, bright sunset hair adorned.
As he grew, no temper raged . . . just tenderness and tears
Illustrated love of God throughout each growing year.

Then:

In September’s lovely fall, a babe’s new cry was heard.
“It’s a girl!” was soon declared as perfect love was stirred.
Now, among more boisterous boys, this girl (right from the start),
Captured hearts from silly smiles, and always stood apart.

Then:

As the days sped swiftly by, this boy and girl advanced,
Each progressing rapidly ‘till God their souls enhanced.
Big decisions came with time, but so did precious love.
Meeting in the library proved God was still above.

Then:

Easter came with kneeling pleas, “Oh, will you be my wife?
I will honor and adore through every day of life.”
With her hands placed on her face, and tears through precious eyes,
Now this girl’s sure cry was heard, for love would never die.

And then:

In the heat of hot July, God’s temple is the place
Where eternal covenants bring vows in sacred space.
Andrew and sweet Julie’s name is etched with God’s own pen.
He will bless your union when He meets you there and THEN.
Don’t be late that sacred day; He’ll bless you there and THEN.
