Text:
By the Sea of Galilee when the crowds dispersed,
Jesus entered in a ship with apostles close.
From much weariness He lay soon to be immersed,
For the waves did ever spill and strong winds arose.

Waking Him in earnestness, each apostle asked:
Master, Master, carest not that we perish fast?
Save us Lord; the waves are high; now the ship is full.
Canst Thou calm the raging sea ‘til the storm has passed?

Chorus:
Why are ye so fearful? Why are ye afraid?
I can hush the winds and waves as ye trust my ways.
By my word I’ll still the sea causing perfect calm.
Why are ye so fearful? I can still the storm.

In the raging storms of life, in our own distress,
Do we think the Master can bring us peace and rest?
Can He help eliminate ev’ry fear we own?
Can we trust His righteousness when our life is stressed?

Chorus:
Why are we so fearful? Why are we afraid?
He can calm our winds and waves as we trust His ways.
By His word He quiets doubts in our greatest storms.
Why are we so fearful? He’s our calming Lord.
