An original hymn about how Christ was broken for us. Text by Kathryn W. Hales below. Watch on YouTube: Broken
His broken body on the tree,
Wounded, stripped for all to see,
From chains of sin I’m now set free.
Bruised and broken, Lord for me;
A miracle broke the sealed tomb,
Walls no barrier to the Upper Room
Where with apostles He did commune,
Overcoming death and gloom
My wounded heart now is healed,
Changed to one that truly feels;
Through His covenants I am sealed
If my will I meekly yield.
My broken heart now mended right
By threads of holy words of Light,
Is now humbled and contrite
As I keep Him in my sight.
Broken bread upon the trays
Blessed by those who kneel and pray,
Tied to Him I’ll always stay
And remember Him all my days.
There’s nothing broken He can’t mend;
He’ll forever be my Friend,
Now made whole, I humbly bend,
Enduring gratefully to the end.
