1. The prophet stands beside us,
And never in between,
The voice of God to guide us,
God’s face, we’ve not yet seen.
He points His finger to the way.
He calls a warning cry.
He labors with us through the day,
His labors testify.

2. The prophet never ceases
To raise His voice so clear,
For wickedness increases,
And some begin to fear.
The prophet pleads with urgency
To stay upon the path,
For Satan’s brash insurgency
Will bring a day of wrath.

3. The prophet labors solely
To roll forth the great stone,
Of God’s bright kingdom holy,
He does not strive alone.
He put his shoulder to the task,
Yoked with the Savior’s might,
He reached out his hand to ask,
To join him in the fight.
