A sacred Easter hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann Snowball. YouTube video: Suffering, hymn
- Please see text below:
Suffering, can I suffer any more than this?
Wilt thou help me, dear Father? I cannot bear the anguish that I feel.
Listening, I expect thy voice so softly now.
But (Then) I sense through thy silence Thou wants me to accept thy mind and will.
Suffering, will this torment ever go away?
Dost thou hear me, dear Father? This torture now is more than I can bear.
Listening, I can only hear my shouts of pain.
As I shrink now and tremble, I wonder how I’ll last without thy care.
Suffering, now I see and feel great drops of blood.
All alone in this wrestle, I hardly can escape my own demise.
Pleadingly, I beseech this thorn to be removed.
But if Thou canst, dear Father, I’ll demonstrate great love among my cries.
I will suffer, dear Father. My promise is to love without a price.
Suffering, such lone and grieving suffering . . .
