Text:
An ancient prophet tells us all: There is a time to weep,
A time to laugh, a time to mourn when love is felt so deep.
When passing through this veil of tears to vistas far and wide,
A father’s love still radiates—to him we’re ever tied.
We’ve been together through the years; he gave us wings to fly.
He taught us how to live our lives by asking questions why.
He often said to buy balloons, to look for bugs ‘neath rocks,
To learn a word and fly a flag, and with our God to walk.
A father’s love extends beyond to all posterity.
To ev’ry single grandchild now, plus new births yet to be.
He wanted each to feel his love and know he deeply cared.
He is our father who we’ll meet in heaven when we’re there.
An ancient prophet tells us all: There is a time to weep,
A time to laugh, a time to mourn when love is felt so deep.
But soon there’ll be a time to dance, a time to meet above,
When fam’lies will unite once more, and share a purer love.
