A rousing, beautiful, sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.
YouTube video: He Is the Christ, hymn
Text:
Who is this man with palm fronds all around,
Who rides an ass o’er raiment on the ground?
From temple courts He chases evil men
Because his Father’s House He will defend.
Where is He from, this One who teaches truth
In parables with wisdom from his youth?
He cures through love the lame and deaf and blind,
And reaches for each lonely lamb He finds.
How does He feed five thousand souls a meal . . .
Five loaves, two fish, out in an open field?
Yet also kneels in pleading privacy
And thirsts before his death will set all free?
Who is this man, this Man from Galilee
Who died alone so mankind could be free?
O, then He rose from in a borrowed tomb!
Rejoice! He lives! He saved the world from doom.
He is the Christ! The Savior of my soul!
He lived and died, then rose to make me whole!
