Text:
When we reach the end of life on this earth,
Through storm and sun, through joy and hurt,
The house we had, the roads we knew,
Will fade away — but not what’s true.

The cars we drove, the dreams we chased,
The time we lost, the love we faced,
Won’t matter then what we went through —
What mattered most was me and you.

When silver crowns our hair with years,
And faith has calmed our doubts and fears,
Though all around may change and flee,
Our hearts remain eternally.

And when the days grow soft and slow,
Our love will still in quiet glow;
Through every sunset, every view,
We’ll feel the Lord who led us through.

And when we rest beyond this life,
Beyond all pain, beyond all strife,
The things we owned will cease to be,
But love remains — eternally.

Because of Christ, we’ll live again,
Beyond all sorrow, death, and pain;
And hand in hand, still me and you,
Forever one — God makes us new.
