An original hymn with text by Richard Hales.  Watch on YouTube: He Suffered For All of Us

If you could only understand
His willingness to pay the debt,
Would you reach out and take His hand,
And would you never Him forget.

If you could only hear them jeer,
“He says He is King of the Jews!”
Would you follow Him with no fear,
And to defend Him would you choose.

If you could see Him on the ground,
Stretched out in pain and agony,
Would you show love to all around,
Then you a better person be.

If you could only see the cross,
With Jesus hanging on that tree,
Would it have been such a great loss,
To give up your sins and be free.

If you could only feel the pain,
That Jesus suffered for us all,
Then you for Him would not disdain,
Nor ‘tween you and Him, build a wall.

He suffered much for all of us.
He willingly gave up His life.
That we would be raised from the dust,
That we might have eternal life.
