YouTube video: Would You Have Been There?

Text:

Would you have been there that first Christmas morn

When Baby Jesus was mortally born?

Would you have listened to innocent cries,

Seeing pure light when He opened his eyes?

Would you have paused next to Mary’s sweet Son,

Knowing that this was God’s pure Holy One?

Would you have thanked Him with all of your love

For his descending from heaven above?

Would you, oh would you, have been there that day

When the world changed in this wonderful way?

I would have been there where Jesus was laid.

I would have worshipped and silently prayed.

I would have knelt where He quietly slept,

Thanking Him deeply, and openly wept.

I would have spoken with whispering voice,

Then broken silence with songs to rejoice.

Yes, I’d have been there that first Christmas morn,

When Christ, my Savior, was mortally born . . .

Yes, I’d have been there to shout strains of joy,

Thanking the heavens for this Baby Boy.
