Only God can count the pain,

Only He can measure the sorrow,

Only He weighs the broken hearts

Or lonely grief that no one borrows.

Only God can count the drops

Of crimson blood that He shed,

Only He measures with exactness

By plaited thorns that pierced His head.

Only God weighs on His scale

The burden of a broken heart

For His was stilled on Calvary

In grace that only He imparts.

He counted, measured, weighed

The grief, the pain, the sorrow,

And bore it all, yea for every man,

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
