A sacred hymn expressing the thought that words fail to convey what one feels in the soul. Text by Mark R. Fotheringham below.

Watch on YouTube: Words Fail

1. Never has the poet found

Words to match the flowing sound

Or the feeling in our hearts

As the Spirit here imparts

Light and knowledge from on high,

Testimony pure.

Though we stumble to describe,

Still we know it sure.

2. Gold and rubies hidden deep,

Any treasure man might reap,

All are trifles when compared

To the promise God has shared:

Life eternal, filled with joy,

With the ones we love,

In the presence of our God

And the Lord above.

3. Neither eye nor ear of man

Hath perceived such blessings grand,

Neither has the mortal heart

Ever thought one could impart

Blessings as our God will give

Those who love The Lord.

All The Father hath will be

On the righteous poured.
